Mantra Meditation: (Man=Mind + Tra=Protection, a mantra protects the mind from going into its endless chatter.)

There are many ways to meditate. From focusing on the breath, to gazing at a lit candle, to a moving meditation, such as Tai Chi, and other methods. If you have practiced with me, I like to end our session with a few minutes of Mantra meditation. A mantra is a word or phrase repeated silently to yourself. Using a word or phrase anchors our minds and keeps it calm and centered. I love this Dr. Seuss quote: “Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds, you can grow flowers, or you can grow weeds.” We can plant a positive seed in our minds with a mantra. Try one of these:

· I am peaceful

· I am centered

· I am capable

· I am love

· I am strong

At the end of practice, I offer a mantra for you to use, or you can choose another mantra that may be more applicable for you at that moment.
